Three pioneering projects focused on hospital sterilization equipment innovation have emerged as the winners of the first Prémio de Inovação Novo Mundo, sponsored by Ageas Seguros. This award was aimed at infection prevention technologies for healthcare settings.

The award ceremony took place at Healthcare City in Tagus Park, Oeiras, showcasing the best in creative solutions designed to protect human health, well-being, and quality of life. In addition to a financial prize, Ageas awarded three months of incubation at Healthcare City to each of the winning projects, fostering their development in hospital sterilization technology and infection control.

Winning the grand prize with the project deloxHP, Fadhil, at the time a master’s student at the University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Sciences, introduced a groundbreaking approach to combat the exponential rise in hospital infections.
